'Jack' our affectionately named London Routemaster made it's appearance in the same month England won the World Cup (June 1966) when it was delivered by AEC Leyland to London Transport Aldernham proudly carrying the number RML2523.

When 'Jack' was built, the bus had an expected working life of only 17 years, but in 1992 it was taken off the road and rewarded for 26 years of service with a new engine and refurbished interior. 'Jack' returned to active duty at Battersea on the (at the time) newly branded number 19 route carrying many from Finsbury Park to Battersea Bridge, through the West End and fashionable Chelsea.

In 2006 'Jack' was acquired by Tony Witcutt and family who invested in it's restoration so that once again people can truly experience the transport of delight.
